One Great Week.

What could be better than attending two snowboard video premieres in a week? Flying halfway accross the country to attend one of the two with some best friends.

Last Friday my wife and I flew to Minneapolis for the weekend to see a few good friends and to check out a new HD snowboard video That’s It, That’s All. What a great freakin movie. It features pretty much all mountain riding and some huge kickers. Seriously probably the best snowboard movie I’ve ever seen.

After a few days of recovery from the busy weekend in MN, we checked out the Burton premiere of It’s Always Snowing Somewhere, which was pretty good, but not even close to That’s It, That’s All. I was actually a little bummed about the event too. Compared to last year’s Burton event, this one was prety lame. Last year they had awesome door prizes and gave away tons of free stuff. This year about 10 t-shirts were thrown into the crowd. I’m not one to expect free stuff at these events, but it sure does make it more fun. Did I mention that I won a jacket and pants from the Minnesota premiere?

Anyways these videos have had me dreaming of the upcoming snowboarding season. The mountains have a bit of snow and looking at them every day has been fueling the fire. Man I’m so ready for it to dump some major powder in the Wasatch Mountains and start shredding.

Vote for (insert name here)!

Yesterday morning I was in downtown Salt Lake City sitting at a red light. I couldn’t help but notice the person in front of me had a bumper sticker supporting a certain presidential candidate. I think its great that they are supporting “mr. presidential candidate”. However, when the arrow flashes green this car sits there still as be, the driver talking on his cell phone while the rest of us are missing our opportunity to advance.
Who do I look to blame? Well, its Mr. “presidential candidate”, the only name or assotiation I can pin to the guy in front of me.

A note to those who support their favorite candidates on their bumper. When you drive like an idiot, your hurting your party.

How does it work?

Today at work I noticed some unusual activity at 222 South Main. This is a building that’s going up downtown and will soon block the sun from my window for most of the morning. I’ve been unofficially documenting the progress of this building and find it interesting. Like I said today was a little different, they were expanding the crane and making it taller. I saw them bring up expansion pieces one by one, but because I was at work trying to get things done, I never saw what happened after they brought the piece up. No matter how i tried to time my glances out the window, I always saw the same thing, them bringing up a piece. I never once saw what they did with the piece once they got it up there, but sure enough, the crane was getting taller.

After an afternoon of frustration, I finally turned to youtube and found a nice time lapse video that shows all the parts of the process I was missing.

I hope you find this as intriguing as I do.
